Profile
Jennifer Seigle is the Dance Program Director at Mesa Community College. Jennifer's career as a movement artist has taken her around the country as a director, choreographer, guest artist, movement coach, and master teacher. Choreography credits include: Roméo & Juliette (Arizona Opera), Amahl and the Night Visitors (Rocky Mountain Center for Musical Arts), Queen Margaret, Two Gentlemen of Verona, and As You Like It (all at Colorado Shakespeare Festival). Stage directing credits include: Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? (Arizona Opera), Lee Blessing’s Independence (Gardner Stages, Los Angeles), and Things You Shouldn’t Say Past Midnight (Whitmore-Lindley Theatre, N. Hollywood, CA).
As an educator, Jennifer enjoys working with students to create interdisciplinary works of dance theatre. Academic credits include Director-Choreographer for: Satoh Makoto’s Dance of Angels Who Burn Their Own Wings (MFA Thesis Production at the University of Colorado), The Pajama Game and Crazy for You (both at Columbia Gorge School of Theatre); Choreographer for: You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Long Beach City College) and The Brothers Grimm and Sisters Wild (California State University, Northridge); Movement coach for Beth Henley’s The Lucky Spot (Long Beach City College) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (University of Colorado). Jennifer has also created more than 20 works of original concert dance choreography for colleges across Southern California and the Southwest.
Prior to joining MCC, Jennifer was a member of the dance faculty at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Long Beach City College, Los Angeles City College, and Santa Barbara City Colleges. Jennifer holds an MFA in Dance from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and a BA in Theatre from California State University, Northridge. She also holds a JD, summa cum laude, from Southwestern Law School, where she was named a Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Scholar. She is an Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC).
